Inspire![]() Letters to the EditorDec. 5 2005 Dear Editor: Upon reading the article you have published about Jersey Public School ("Keswick school's balanced literacy focus, strong leadership seen as key") we are both honoured and humbled by what we have read. We are honoured that you have chosen to share 'our journey' with your readers and have found in the work of our students and teachers a story that might be an encouragement to dedicated educators all over the province. You have absolutely captured the essence of who we are and what we are striving to accomplish – improved student achievement. The decisions that we have made collaboratively (staff and school council) in our School Plan for Continuous Improvement are intentionally designed to make a difference for our students. We are humbled by the fact that the article identifies the literacy focus and strong leadership as being the reasons for our successes. Jersey’s real success story is founded in curricular decisions, passionate teachers, dedicated parents, school board support and community partners. It is more than our literacy focus and strong leadership – it is partnerships dedicated to supporting student achievement. Sincerely, |
