The Minister's Seventh Annual PIC Symposium was held in six regions across Ontario, including one French language symposium, between April 9 – May 14, 2016. By going out to parents in their communities, we reached over 300 dedicated parents to discuss the importance of parent engagement and to provide opportunities for meaningful networking and collaboration.
This year's regional format helped reach more parents than ever before, including school council parent members. By having seven regional sessions, we were able to respond even better to local needs, and provide more time for parents to network with others that shared their unique challenges.
In the words of the participants:
|"We will take the learning back to council and build better schools and communities. This was a very meaningful day that was made better by sharing it with others in our area."
