The Getting Down to Business website provides employers with information and links to services that can help them tap into the pool of internationally trained employees.

How can I hire and train students?

Participate in the Ontario government’s Summer Jobs Service and benefit from employer incentives.

Learn how Business-Education Councils can help you get involved in providing a range of school-work experiences for students, including the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship (OYAP) program, school-work transitions, job shadowing, and Passport to Prosperity programs.

What hiring incentives are available?

The Ontario Targeted Wage Subsidy provides incentives to employers who provide work experience to individuals who are unemployed and need help getting back into the workforce.

Employers can take advantage of the Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit when employing apprentices in certain skilled trades during the first 36 months of an apprenticeship program.

Incentives are also available to employers through the Summer Jobs Service.

As an employer, you can participate in Ontario Job Creation Partnerships which provides work experience to unemployed job seekers through projects that benefit the community or local economy.
