E-Learning Ontario

E-Learning Ontario (eLO) is guided by a vision of an Ontario where students have unlimited opportunities to learn and achieve at a high level within a digital and ever-changing world. As part of this vision, eLO provides school boards with various tools necessary to provide students with e-learning opportunities.

Some of the tools offered by eLO include:

  • The Learning Management System (LMS) – an online system containing over 125 online secondary credit courses for boards to choose from and offer to their students. Communication and assessment tools within the LMS (e.g., blogs, discussions, dropboxes, electronic portfolios) allow students and teachers to learn and teach at a distance.
  • The Ontario Educational Resource Bank – an "online library" with over 26,000 resources that are searchable by grade, subject/course, strand, overall expectation and/or keyword. Users can also filter their search results by file format, creator name, resource type, learning style, and teacher/learner strategy.
  • E-Community Ontario – an online professional learning community with over 100 English and over 30 French communities on various topics.

For more details about the tools available through eLO, please visit http://www.ontario.ca/elearning.
