What are the award criteria?
The teacher:
- has a boundless energy and passion for teaching
- makes a positive impact on students and the school community
- shows a strong commitment to student learning
- collaborates with other teachers and inspires them to pursue new learning
- demonstrates a thorough command of subject and curriculum
- is committed to their own professional development and growth
What are some examples of excellent teaching?
There are many ways to be an outstanding teacher, and as many reasons to nominate someone for a Premier's Award. For example, do you know a teacher who encourages students to explore new possibilities, take risks and solve problems in a creative way?
Or you might know someone who is a role model in fostering a culture of equity, diversity and respect. Someone who makes all students feel welcome and who brings people together to celebrate Ontario's many cultures.
