What if I don't have a required course?

Jerome - George Brown It may not be too late -- but it will require work. Your guidance counsellor can explain your options and support your progress. With a plan in place, you can get the grades and earn the credits you need to qualify for the college, apprenticeship, or university program of your choice.

If there's a gap between the grades or credits you have and those that are required for a program you're interested in, you might be able to take one of the preparatory or upgrading programs that are offered by all colleges and some universities. Ask your guidance counsellor or teachers for advice and contact the institution you hope to attend for details about its preparatory or upgrading programs.

Nicole - LoyalistAnother option to consider is the Independent Learning Centre (ILC) which is part of TV Ontario. The ILC provides a wide range of distance education courses, in English and in French, for Ontario residents who want to earn Ministry of Education high school diploma credits, upgrade basic skills, or study for personal development. For further information on the ILC go to www.ilc.org.
